Test 1
Using a template to create a 25GB 2003 SP2 VM.
When complete, expanding the disk size to be 650GB. On the VM format the remaining 625GB and make the "D" drive.
Copy 18GB file to the D drive takes several hours. (via network share)
Test 2.
Using a template to create a 25GB 2003 SP2 VM.
When complete create new hard disk (on same lun as 25GB VM) 625GB in size. Add to VM
Format 625 GB and make "D" drive.
Copy 18Gb file to D drive takes 23-25 minutes. (via network share)
Is this expected behavior ? Why is the "expanded" volume so slow ?
