Datastore missing

Hi, 
Does anyone know the steps how to check if someone deleted a datastore? Also, if there are steps on how to recover the missing datastore if it is not being detected by esxi?  I have already run the commands below to check if it is not mounted but the missing datastore is not on the list.

esxcfg-scsidevs -m

esxcli storage filesystem list
