Converter Error

Hi,

I am using VMware converter 5.0. I have vCenter and ESXi 5.0.

Before I was converting all online VMs into local HDD successfully.

Even all VMs are converting fine except one machine that is Exchange Server. When I start converter after few minutes it gives this error "Failed: An error occurred during the conversion: ;converter.fault.FileIOFault'

I defregmented the local c Drive of this VM but still same error.

In this regard kindly help me.

The screen shot unfortunately does not help much, except for showing an issue at "1%" which usually points to an issue with creating the target VM. To find out more, create a Converter log bundle from the Converter GUI and attach it to your next reply post.

Please find attached converter GUI log and let me know the reason and corrective action please.

Hi,

    When the conversion is failing at 1% that clearly indicates there is something realy wrong either in the conversion process or network settings.Can you please confirm you are following all the best practices mentioned in KB: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004588 99% of the issues will get fixed if we follow the same except any network issue in your environment)

Firstly: Use the latest converter version. This alone may not solve the issue, but ensures it's not related to any bugs in version 5.0.

Secondly: Ensure the users mentioned in the log file (especially "MEPCO\badar") have sufficient permissions!

Hi Andre,

I installed new versno of converter that is 5.1.

Also mepco\badar user have full rights on this computer even I am able to convert all others VM except this exchange.

other log file is attached.

NOTE: when i was exporting logs it stuck on 99% for long time and give some message that i forgotton.

Kindly check and let me know the problem.
