Change VC VDP is registered with

Hi

I am in the process of rebuilding my VC.... my old one is working like a dog, after being fixed by VMWare support. Had issues installing client certificates ...

Anyway.. I go to re register the VDP with the new VDP and .... it tells me its going to loose all the backups and basically i am going to be starting from scratch....  thats pretty bad... what if i lost my VC from disaster and had to rebuild it ?

Am i missing something ???

Hi,

I don't think you will lose the backups. But what you will lose is the configuration such as backup jobs and other configuration information.

You backups should still exist after registering to a new vCenter.

Pls recheck the message when you registered VDP to new vCenter.
