Cannot change VDP vCentre Registration Username

I need to change the account used by VDP for vCentre Registration. I'm trying to do this via :

- vdp-configure  configuration screen

- Click to modify vCentre configuration

- Enter the root password

- Change vCentre username and password

- Hit save

- Reboot appliance.

After the reboot when I go back to the configuration screen the username has reverted to the old one.

Anyone know how to get round this ?

If it is not a problem with the rights of your new user (check if the user has direct permission and is not only a member of a group which have permission), it could also be a problem with a special character in your password.

Thanks for the input but the new user is specifically defined in the administrator role and the password consists of letters and numbers only.

Just a guess..

-Reboot appliance  : Did you press the rever arrow icon by any chance ? It actually reverts the configuration back to old.  The button is not actually for reboot.

Watching the event log it appeared the original account couldn't log into the vCentre so I assume couldn't change the account.

Scrapped the server and redeployed, all working now.
