my infrastructre vcenter is different from production vcenter though both are running 5.1
can i deploy vdp on one vcenter and backup the vms sitting on another vcenter ?
No. VDP should be deployed within the vCenter to protect the VMs.
You cannot have VDP deployed in one vCenter and protect the VMs on another.
