Can I run VDR on an internal network?

vCenter in my environment is available via both the VM-network at external IP's and the Vyatta network at internal IP's. A range of 192.168.1.x is used by a second network card on all virtual machines.

I wish to know if it is possible to host VDR (VMWare Data Recovery) on a dedicated IP address.

Unfortunately I have no way to access the 192.168.x.x from my personal computer. Is this necessary for being able to manage VDR? Or is all management sent via vCenter?

And if I set up a VPN connection so I can access the 192.168.x IP addresses, will this nullify the need of an external IP address for the VDR VM?

VDR needs to connect to ESXi, vCenter. As long as your PC via vSphere CLient can connect to vCenter servers segment you will be ready to run the client.
