Guys, i have 2 storeges in my production environment. EVA4400 and EVA6400.
When i start the backup, they go to the limit of stress.. well, i know it's because the routine of vdp to make backup of 8 VM at the same time. But, i want to know if it's possible to change this number, i want to do only 5 backups at the time. Is it possibly? how do i do.
I know that in VDR we could do this simply change the datarecovery.ini (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=101317...)
Is it possible to do in VDP?
Thank you
No, it's not possible in the current version. You can't change this setting.
Paul
So, if i create multiples tasks to execute in the seme backup window, it will execute one at time?
I thought tha i could criate multiples tasks with 5 vm to execute in the same backup window
Thank you
If you define more Backup-Jobs, they will also run in parallel until to the limit of 8 backups.
Ok. Thank you Paul1
It seems to be possible now. Look at here:
Re-configure proxies for VDP – Limit the number of parallel backups |
Thank you Paul1.
The article says that "Number of proxy clients (1 to 😎 [8]: 3 <Enter the number of proxies to limit. Max is 8>"
But the Application says "Number of image proxy clients (0 to 8)" and "Number of file proxy clients (0 to 8)"
What is the difference between these?
Should i set the same value for both of two?
Thank you
