Our vCenter application runs on a VM. We use a seperate SQL server for the DB.
Most of the accounts I've been on have used agent based backup methodologies for VMs...making no distinction from physical systems. I'm am planning a transition of our vCenter VM from file based to snapshot/image/VMDK based backups. I understand the limitations and restore challenges with this scenerio. I'm just wanting to confirm that there are no technical concerns or circular dependency issues with the actual backup when configuring image based backups on the vCenter server itself. I have done this in the past but since it's been a while I thought it prudent to revisit.
