After Moving VM from 6.0 ESX Go 6.5 ESX can‘t make Snapshot or Editing vm details

hello community i have a problem and i hope someone can help. I have moved some vm's from an esxi 6.0 to a new esxi 6.5. The move went without any problems. I can also start the vm's and work with it. However, I have the problem that I can no longer back up the VMs. A snapshot is always canceled. Editing of the VMs, for example increasing RAM or changing network cards, is no longer possible. In VSphere Server the VMs are displayed with "0" MB hard disk capacity. What can be the cause or who has ever had such a problem?

I am grateful for all support.

Hi @Iron883 ,

Such issues are caused by failed backups or restores. Here the disks seems to intact as you are able to power the VM On and access them.

1. Firstly, shutdown the VM and un-register it from the inventory. Browse the datastore and register it back using the vmx file

2. If the issue persists, you can review the disks via SSH and re-create the VMDKs

Re-creating VMDKs

Re-creating VMDKs if they are running on snapshots

Hope that helps
