configured failover capacity n/a

Hello,

My HA cluster setup don't seem to work.

Failover of the VM's is not working.

I noticed "configured failover capacity n/a" on the summary tab of the cluster.

I been searching across the internet but don't find a solution.

Can somebody help me please.

I am testing out for my boss.

We are currently working with linux (drbd and KVM) the virtualisize.

But we want to change to a better solution.

First, I don't think this is related to vCSHB, but more probably to vSphere HA and DRS.

The failover capacity is dependent on the resources of the hosts of the cluster and the admission control settings.

Hello,

Thanks for the interrest to help me.

My current configuration is on 1 Vmware host esxi server 5.5.

There I setup 2 virtual machines esxi evaluation vmware hosts and 1 windows 2008 Virtual machine (12 GB, vcenter installed)

I have 1 Nas shared storage for test purpose.

The 2 esxi host i setup in a cluster with failover to test before I actually buy 2 servers.

On 1 of the hosts I installed a ubuntu client for testing the failover.

But it doesn't failover the Virtual machine where Ubuntu is running.

Hello,

I found the solution.

I diconnected all CD-Roms of the VMs.

And now it is able to fialover !

Welcome to the Community - Glad you were able to help yourself - what you discovered Is that for HA (and vMotion/DRS) to work is that the VMs can not be connected to a component on the host hey are sitting on such as a CD-ROM, floppy drive or have a v virtual disk that sits on non-shared storage,
