Trying to Upgrade Memory for an FT VM

I have a customer that wants to upgrade his CPU and Memory for his VM. However, when I disable FT and power off the VM, it won't allow me to upgrade the Memory. It is greyed out. I can upgrade the CPU just fine though. The memory is stuck at 2048MB. Is there a limitation for memory? Or can I go above 2048MB? Is the only way to recreate the VM from scratch? Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciate. Cheers.

Hi Davidsound 714,

Welcome to the forum.

You have to turn FT off before being able to change the memory size of this VM.

Thank you! It's nice to meet you.

And I can't just disable it? It has to be turned off completely? I'll lose my secondary VM though. :*(

Yes you have ti disable it. Disable FT Power off the VM. Change the RAM, turn on FT and power back on the VM and the shadow VM will be recreated. There is going to be some downtime to accomplish thIs task

When you turn FT on, the virtual machine's memory reservation is set to its memory size. This is done to prevent swapping and ballooning.

That's why you have to turn it off to change memory size.
