SRM - Two Sites - Two vCenters per site – Topology/Licensing Question

Hey All,

At site A we have a physical division between our systems. Each has its own vCenter for compliance reasons. We will be doing the same thing at site B which is the DR site.

Do I still need 1 instance of site recovery manager per site for a total of 2 or will I actually need a site recovery manager per vCenter for a total of 4?

Will it even work as Im thinking?

Thank you,

Jason

I really think this is a question for VMware Licensing - personally I do not see why it should not work

Thank you for the response. So you think it will work with 1 SRM per site? Two vCenters able to use a single SRM instance?

I have not thought all the way through it - but I think one SRM instance per site should work - I think you will find out pretty quick whne you try to connect the SRM server to the second vCenter -

Yeah, unfortuanty we are in the planning stages and do not have SRM. I suppose I could try to get a demo copy to test?

Thanks again by the way.
