Running Fault Tolerance on VMs belonging to a Domain.

Happy New Year to all the good people!!

I have a concern or question and hope someone can provide some clarifying answers.... here we go!

Fault Tolerance is designed to run a second live copy of the VM concerned on another ESXi host. If this VM is part of a domain and also tied to a specific IP, how can we manage (prevent guest OS name and IP conflicts) that knowing that both will be live till a problem occurs?

Wishing you a Wonderful and productive 2016

Frank

You can use FT with VMs belonging a domain without problems since the secondary virtual machine will "go live" only in case of failure of primary virtual machine... this way there is no IP conflict or any other conflict, like virtual machine SID conflict.
