How to reset VM monitoring reset count

Hello community,

I'm currently evaluating Symantec Application HA 5.1 SP2 with ESXi4.1. So far it works very well but I have some questions regarding the VMware HA cluster settings.

My cluster settings are:

failure interval: 120 seconds

Minimum uptime: 480 seconds

Maximum per-VM resets: 3

Maximum resets time window: 168 hours (7 days)

So to test the setup I'm purposefully killing my monitored application within the VM and wait for the reset by VMware HA (no restart or graceful reboot configured). After three resets the VM does not get resetted as long as 168 hours haven't passed. So everything works as expected.

My questions are:

- Is there a way to look up how many times a VM has already been resetted within the time window?

- How can I reset this counter (useful for testing) - Switching the VM off an on again manually does not work.

Thanks in advance

Sascha

Hi msatya,

thanks for you answer!

This post is indeed very interesting, but does not answer my question on how to look up how often a VM has already been reset in the time window.
