Hi,

Can anybody share the steps to configure FT ( Fault Tolerance) or config sheet for the same would be fine?

Thanks in advance,

Sunil

Is very simple (just some click):

http://download3.vmware.com/vdcos/demos/FT_Demo_800x600.html

But require recent CPU and a dedicated (if possible) log network.

(And also shared storage).

netapp1 / AndreTheGiant ,

I believe this video is fairly old as it was recorded using the early beta of the ESX, and while enabling the FT is still the same, the video didn't show important step that need to be set on the network configurations, which is the "FT Logging"...

In case you are interested to see this step, you can see my video here, but one important point to note here is that the FT logging should be set on a dedicated links rather than shared..

Nice job Smiley Wink

but one important point to note here is that the FT logging should be set on a dedicated links rather than shared..

If you can create a VMotion interface you can create also a FT interface Smiley Wink

Best if it is on a dedicated link.

But could work also on a shared one (be only sure to create a new portgroup).

thanks Smiley Happy

And yes, this is actually what I intend to do in my environment, I mean sharing the vMotion network with the FT, I can't really afford to have a dedicated link just for FT while vMotion will normally be idle most of the time...
