High Availability

I have 2 Vmware ESX Host and I want to test High Availability feature, if one of my ESX Host accidentally powered off will HA still works or the VM's running on the host will automatically transfer to the other host?

Anyone who had tested it and give me feedback as to what happened? Thank you

If you have VMware HA and you poweroff a ESX, then VMware HA will restart the VMs (that were active on the first node) on the other ESXs.

You're welcome.

Using HA be sure to understand also

  • isolation response (http://blog.scottlowe.org/2007/10/05/troubleshooting-vmware-ha-isolation-response/) and
