Dear VMware Experts,
I need to configre HA enabled cluster on two standalone esx host. but i have one query. esx1 has 6 nics , 2 nics to each vSwitch for redundancy and esx2 has 3 nics to 3 vSwitch no redundancy, will i able to add these ESX host in a HA enabled cluster. will it give any errors / warnings while adding the same.
Please do help me with the HA Pre-requisites and Best Practices.,,,
Regards
MrVMware
You should still be able to create the HA cluster, so long as the servers can communicate with each other

Thanks for the reply,
Will it give any error/warning bcox we don;t have nic reduncdancy on one of the ESX host.
regards
Mr VMware.
You will possibly get a management network redundancy warning - but it is a warning, it won't stop it working.
If you get a warning about "no network redundancy" you can hide it with some help from the following KB.

What do you mean with "stand alone" in this case? To be able to use HA you must have vCenter license and you will not be able to configure or use HA without the vCenter server.
Dear Rickard,
I do have a Licensed vCenter server, Sxtandalone Host measn they are not part of the cluster.

Even if you only have 3 NICs in one of the hosts you could reconfigure the vSwitches so you do get Management network failover capacity. This will be good for both removing any warnings but also getting a much more stable cluster. ![]()
Dear Rickar Friend,
we r handling the customer site and each nic is configured/connected to specific vlans we won't able to remove any nic from vswitches, otherwise the VMs which r running will be disconnected from the local lan, thaty i have raised a concern over here to make sure the same.
many thanks for help and support and i appreciate the same

Depending on the exact situation you have you might be able to transfer VMs through vMotion and reconfigure the network without downtime. It might or might not be worth the trouble, however you have asked many question about HA Isolation Response and seems to be worried about it - and having no Management fault tolerance is a very high risk for un-necessary Isolation Response triggers.
