HA & FT on MS SQL server 2008 r2 vm

Dears,

I want to enable HA & FT on SQL server 2008 r2 as my client requires zero downtime.Has any one tried these on their live environments.

My  question is SQL server 2008 r2 requires dual core and FT works only with one vCPU?. I want to run IIS and PHP services on seperate VM's which also need FT enabled.

Can any one pl. advice ...

FT only works with single vCPU guests. So, if you are running a guest with more than a single vCPU, then it won't work, nor can it be configured.

MS SQL Server's built in mirroring is as close to 0 downtime as is practical.

zero down time without sql clustering or FT. bear in mind FT's 1 vCPU limitation and there is a limited number of FT machines on a single host ..
