FT across vCenters in linked mode

Hi,

does anyone know if it is possible to run a VM with FT across vCenters in linked mode? By default I know it's not possible since it needs to have the same storage on both sides and so on, but is there a way around this?

Thanks Smiley Happy

NO.

vSphere FT has a basic pre-requisite of vSphere HA.

and vSphere HA can only be set on a Host Cluster.

And Host Cluster cannot be spanned across Virtual Datacenters, so achieving vSphere HA cluster across two vCenter servers is out of the question.

FT is not supported on stretched storage (vMSC).

I understand the interest in this, keep in mind that FT is already latency sensitive (not well suited to very latency sensitive applications eg. VOIP, etc), doing what you are asking (if it were possible and/or supported) would increase latency even more.
