Enabling FT on a VM - Getting "Insufficient Memory Resources"

Hi,

I am trying to enable FT for a test VM. When i select "Turn on Fault Tolerance" it tries to enable it, but pretty quickly comes up with a pop-up saying "Insufficient Memory Resources"

The host in question has 128gb of RAM, and this is the only VM on it so physical host memory shouldn't be the problem....what else can we check ?

Thanks !

Hello.

Can you describe your environment a little more? How many hosts, memory on each host, etc.

Good Luck!

There are 3 hosts in the cluster...one is in MM though because it can't see the storage yet....

128Gb of RAM each...24 cores...IBM 3850 servers

This is the only VM in the cluster

We don't have a dedicated FT logging NIC as yet...this is just a testing phase...if things work we will get some ports provisioned to give us a dedicated FT logging network

Hi

I had the same issue. My VM was in a resource pool with a memory limitation. I gave the resource pool more memory (as much as the VM memory is) and then it worked.

yes that was pretty much our problem too. We had reservations on resource pools but not enough resources while we had one host in MM.

So really, it was a resource pool problem and nothing to do with FT.
