Cannot disable FT

I tried enabling FT on a VM in my environment (where FT worked previously with other VMs) and it seems to be stuck. It seems to be stuck in a loop where it says Not Protected, then it starts the secondary VM, then it shows protected for about 1 second, then the secondary VM fails. All of the options under Fault Tolerance are greyed out except Migrate Secondary but that doesn't actually do anything.

The VM has become completely inaccessible in vCenter so I can't power it up or down. I can still access the server via RDP so I know it's still running.

Any clue how to turn off FT?

Thanks, that is a helpful script. It actually lets me perform FT operations on the VM which are not available in the GUI. Unfortunately the disable and stop commands don't work and return a "The operation is not allowed in the current state."

Any other thoughts? I can power down the VM but then I doubt I can power it back up again through the vSphere Client. It might work through the command line.

This happened once before and I had to reboot the ESX host running the VM to clear out whatever was stuck and then I was able to turn off FT. I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Actually I take that back - this did fix it. Although both of these commands failed, the option to turn off FT was no longer greyed out after running them. I was able to disable it via the GUI and it's back to normal.

Thanks for the help! Post again so I can give you the Correct points.
