Hi,
Can I protect a given VM pertaining to a DRS cluster with Fault Tolerance for having continuous availability?
Can a Fault Tolerance protected VM be live migrated (either automatically thru DRS) of manually?
Thanks

Hello.
>Can I protect a given VM pertaining to a DRS cluster with Fault Tolerance for having continuous availability?
As long as you meet the requirements to use FT, then yes.
>Can a Fault Tolerance protected VM be live migrated (either automatically thru DRS) of manually?
"Fault Tolerance and vSphere Features Not Supported
DRS features. A fault tolerant virtual machine is automatically configured as DRS-disabled. DRS does initially place a Secondary VM, however, DRS does not make recommendations or load balance Primary or Secondary VMs when load balancing the cluster. The Primary and Secondary VMs can be manually migrated during normal operation." - taken from p. 36 of the Availability Guide
Good Luck!
You cannot have FT enabled on DRS Clusters and SMP Virtual Machines. Both the Primary and Secondary VMs can be on the same host but only when they are powered down.
1、DRS Cluster isn't for Fault Tolerance;
2、Fault Tolerance only permit one core vSMP;
3、FT is a enhanced feature for HA。
I think yes you can use DRS with FT
