Activa HA on existing cluster with hosts

I have a cluster with three ESXi 5.0U1 hosts. vMotion works fine.

Can i enable HA and FT on this cluster without downtime? Do I need to reboot the hosts?
Or should I create a new cluster with HA enabled and move the hosts to this cluster (as when enabling EVC)?

You can activate HA online, no reboot needed.

Btw. HA is a cluster feature whereas FT is a "per VM" feature.

No you can enable it on the fly. The HA agent will be deployed and your VMs will be automatically protected by vSphere HA.
