Turn Fault Tolerance off and on via script

Hello all,

it seems our backup software is not able to snapshot FT VMs.

Is there a way using powershell or any other scripting language to turn off FT for the backup and back on afterwards?

Didn't see any commands in Powercli help and the scripts linked in older posts I found are not helping.

vSphere Environment is version 6.0 with current updates

Thanks in advance.

Use this function from Niklas to enable or disable Fault Tolerance.

Thanks for the link, but it is only half the solution.

That script allows to turn off FT, but is only able to enable it for the "old" Fault Tolerance with the 1 vCPU limit.

Any way to enable it for multi CPU?
