Installing VMWare Tools on vSphere Client

Can anybody explain exactly how I am supposed to install the "VMware tools" in a step by step format. I'm running vSphere 4.0 without the update 1. Thanks in advance!

Check out this section in the Online Library. From there, pick the OS you need and there are step-by-step instructions to follow.
