Syslog client for Windows

Somewhat off-topic but since syslog is the 'entry point' for events to be sent to vCenter Log Insight does anyone have a recommendation for a good Windows Syslog client?

You can try out snare for windows. It works pretty good. Grab the open source one.

eventlog-to-syslog is great, but note it only handles Windows eventlog and not custom application logs (e.g. vCenter Server). As such we typically recommend things like Cygwin, Datagram, and Intersect Alliance.

Datagram SyslogAgent supports event logs as well as application logs being forwarded to syslog.
