vrops does not track the length of time a snapshot is active. The only way i have found is when configuring your alert set the wait cycle to how long you want to wait before alerting after the alert is first triggered

e.g setting the wait cycle to 12 will cause the alert to not trigger until the alert condition has been active for 1h (each wait cycle is 5 mins) Just increase the wait cycle to the number you need

Hi yabaleh,

Actually, there is a built-in alert definition in vrops "Virtual machine is running on snapshots for more than 2 days", you can use it, or clone another alert definition and change "Virtual machine has disk snapshots for a long time" property from 2 days to X days as you want. Please try and if will meet any problem please let me know and I will help you.

You learn something new every day. I did not know that. When did they add it?

"Virtual machine is running on snapshots for more than 2 days" built-in alert definition is available starting from vROps 6.6.
