vCops Licensing missunderstanding

Hello everybody,

I installed vcops Enterprise 5.6 in our environment with trial Key. Everythings Works good, but if i try to add a license Key from vspp i get an error that this is Not a valid key.

I am a little confused with all the versions and keys. Can anyone help. Do i miss something? I found a key which has 100 VMs but we have much more.Do i have to aquire a New key?

I installed vcops as vapp appliance.

thx for help!

best reards

vCOps 5.6 uses two different types of license keys. There's a Suite license and a Standalone license.

  • vSphere 5.1 supports the use of either Suite or Standalone licensing.
  • Prior to vSphere 5.1 you have to use a Standalone license.

Also, make sure that you are not trying to use a vCOps 5.0 key, which will not work in 5.6.

Hello,

i have the following vCenter Operations Keys in myvmware.com:

vCenter Operations Enterprise (System)
vCenter Operations Enterprise (Network Device)
vCenter Operations Enterprise (Terabyte)
vCenter Operations Enterprise (Virtual Machine)
vCenter Operations Manager 5 Enterprise - MS
vCenter Operations Manager 5 Enterprise - ND
vCenter Operations Manager 5 Enterprise - TM
vCenter Operations Manager 5 Standard
vCenter Operations Standard
vCenter Operations Suite 5.6 Enterprise
vCenter Operations Suite 5.6 Standard

Attached you find a screenshot from the vcenter. The one with 10000 VMs is the TRIAL Key.

The only key working is the one i have in the vcenter for 100 VMs. But i need much more.

best regards

Looks like the enterprise key with 10100 licenses are working, we can see 87 VMs are license with this Key.

whats the exact error you are getting while applying this key?

Hi,

these Keys you see (10000) are trial keys. I entered a valid Key for 100 Vms thats ok, but i need around 3000 VMs. But my Problem is, what Key do i have to put in vCenter to have enough VMs in VSPP licensing.

best regards
