vCOPs 1.0.1 upgrade to vCOPs 5

Hello Everyone,

Our company will be upgrading from vcops 1.0.1 to vcops 5.  I was looking at the configuration document, and unless I completely missed something, I did not see anyway to utilizing our existing SQL Server 2008 physical machine DB in conjunction with vcops 5.  What I would like to know is, can I still utilize this DB along with vcops 5?

Thanks,

S.T.H

Hi S.T.H.,

The vC Ops vApp (appliance version) uses an embedded PostgreSQL database.  External database is not supported for the vApp.

The standalone version does support various external DBs, include MS SQL 2008, but if you go that route you will not get the capacity analysis that is available with the vApp.
