Hi -
I want to change the default user idle logout time in the UI. Found this article: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=201513...
But I dont understand where to login to change this?
I have putty in to UI VM and Analytics VM, but no folders like the one mentioned KB is there.
It says login to the vApp ? Do I miss something here ? :smileyconfused:
Kind r
Bjørn.
Hi Bjørn,
You can use Putty or WinSCP to login to the UI VM from the vApp.
I just verified in my environment (using WinSCP since it is easier to traverse folders and edit files) and I have existing folder: /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/tomcat/webapps/vcops-vsphere/WEB-INF.
What version of vCOps you are using?
My advice is:
1) Use WinSCP
2) Let us know from what point the path is missing: example: after tomcat/ or after /vcops-vsphere??
3) Post a screenshot with the folder structure from WinSCP so we can think of other suggestions.
Hope this helps,
Alex D.

Hi again.
It was so simple that WinSCP solved it. I found the correct folders. :smileylaugh:
Do you know if a reboot of UI VM is needed for the new settings to take effect?
You can run this command on the UI VM instead of rebooting -
service vcopsweb restart
The easiest way is to login as "admin" to UI VM (Putty, or WinSCP + Open Session in Putty from there) and then issue the following command:
vcops-admin restart
Yeah, what Dave suggests will also work.
Great, thank you very much!
