Suppressing NIC down critical alerts for unused adapters?

Many of our hosts have unutilized ethernet ports that do not have a network cable uplink or any associated vSwitch configurations.

Some of these servers have as many as 8 unused Base-T ports.

The majority of these servers are showing up in  vRops as having an active critical issue

"The Critical symptom Physical NIC link state down has been observed on {HOST}"

I did a bit of googling however couldn't come up with much. I looked at the hosts themselves in the vSphere client and didn't see any active alerts which could be acknowledged or reset.

How can I go about suppressing or ignoring these alerts?

If you want to ignore all these alerts, just remove the alert from the policy.

If you want only alerts on active nics, you should disable unused nics on the esx hosts
