Hi,
Even when I licensed the vcOPS appliance using the Enterprise License, I see this in the vcOPS appliance configuration:
Effective License SKU = vCenter Operations Manager Enterprise 5.6 Effective License Mode = Advanced
And also in the "About>Info".
I'm trying to integrate vcOPS with Hyperic and the configuration for the adapters is done and their state is "collecting"
but I'm not able to see the information...I think that's because of this "advanced" licensing.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Elgreco81,
do you see the Hyperic metrics in the Environment Overview resource tree? Do the Agents show up there?
Did you check the Adapter log?
You will need to create a dashboard for the hyperic metrics, did you do that? Only installing the adapter will show you nothing...

elgreco81,
I had a similar problem... my admin UI showed advanced lic key, but the vcenter showed Enterprise. I could and do get third party data in. Licensing seems to be struggling with vcops so far in my view.
Hi all,
the result is perfectly fine. The highest edition vCenter Operations Manager 5.6 knows about is the Advanced Edition. Anything above like the allowance for adapters etc. is what VMware calls EULA restricted, which means you are responsible to stay within the license terms. The system will only log usage, but will not prevent "overusage".
This is the same like with vCenter Operations Manager 5.0 it knew about Standard, Advanced, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus. Enterprise plus was never shown in the user interface nor in the license key. It was always restricted by EULA.
I hope this helps to clarify.

Ok...good to know I'm not the only one with this issue
Did you have to do something special in order to see the info from your new adapters in your dashboard? I followed this guide for the deployment of the Hyperic adapter (pages 24&25).

Thank you!

I didnt do anything different. I waited til my vcenter admins applied the temp lic key then opened the custom side and added my adapters as I had added the pak files from admin UI already. All worked even though lic key showed diff name in vcops. Wish I had more to offer as help.
Hi Yves,
Thank you for your answer. Looks like an explanation that perfectly fits this situation and I know understand that my problem is not the licensing as I thought it could be, but some configuration that's missing to finally integrate the Hyperic with vcOPS.
Do you happen to know what could be wrong with the integration I'm trying to accomplish?
Thanks again for your help!

The "dashboard creation" was missing from my side. It works like a charm!!! I was struggling to see that information in the wrong interface.
So now the functionality testing begins...and it looks so awesome!
Thanks for your help.
