I need to create a monthly capacity report

Running vRops 6.3 advanced.  I need to create a monthly capacity report that shows our out for the next 6 months.  Not for our whole environment but just 4 or 5 clusters.

I'd also like to exclude storage numbers.  We don't pre-allocate storage to our virtual environment.  We add storage as needed. While vRops says we only have 4TB left in a cluster, we know there is 100TB on the storage that isn't allocated yet.  This seems to throw off everything capacity-wise in vROps in general. I know we have capacity for 1000 VMs with regard to CPU and memory but, any vRops report says we're at capacity because of a lack of storage.

How do others get around this?

You can control capacity models and what resources should be considered through policy.

You can:

1. Edit default policy, navigate to Analysis settings -- Capacity remaining -- Deselect checkbox for disk allocation/demand for Cluster object

2. Create new policy, group your cluster where changes are desired in Custom group, change policy as outlined in p1, assign to custom group,

Let me know if this brief explanation is enough
