Foundations only on trial version?

Hello all,

We are trying to evaluate vCenter Operations Manager for our environment. I have installed the OVA package, setup the servers, no real issues. However I can't seem to get any mode of licensing other than foundations. I downloaded the trial key, installed it through the licence manager in vCenter, I tried logging out and then back in and no love.

Any ideas? I'm not sure what I'm missing here.

Thank you kindly,

Steven

Did you ASSIGN the license in the vCenter Server? Did you restart services or vApp afterwards?

After you assign the license you can go to Admin UI / Status tab and hit Reload button.

No need to restart the services in this case.

Thanks,

Alex D.

Thank you all, I did end up restarting the vApp and that displayed the advanced options. For some reason it doesn't display in the web client. I logged out and back in. Do I have to restart the vCenter server?

Thanks,

Steven

It is not necessary to restart the vApp or the services to get the license to apply - see this link for help.

As long as you can access the features for your edition, then your license is active regardless of what the Admin UI states.
