CPU Stress in vCOPS

Hi there,

I am trying to make sense of some CPU Stress alerts I am getting.

I have a few hosts and they indicate a CPU stress of 1 (at the host level).
What does this mean exactly? The host looks happy enough. It has a good health and workload score.

CPU demand is low too. However it shows it has a CPU contention of 2%. What is VM's acceptable number on this metric?

Some VM have a CPU ready which is somewhat too high. Is stress an indicator of this?

Also, why is that I have a handful of machines that show CPU stress but they are not indicated as undersized when I run a report?

Cheers

Stress of "1" is a good thing, actually.

What kind of alert are you getting - maybe the thresholds are set wrong?

Just noticed a warning alert on some hosts and even though a score of 1 is nothing to be worried about I wondered what triggered it as host looks healthy enough.
I did have a play with tresholds and that took care of it. They are, IMO, somewhat conservative out of the box.

Cheers
