"Removable Devices" of VMRC' is gray

Hello,

I created "Mount CD-ROM" action into vRA7.3.

I found one issue.

When I access VM by VMRC  in vRA7.3 "Removable Devices" of VMRC' is gray.

But we directly access same VM by VMRC in vCenter.

The function is OK.

How to resolve it ?

Are you trying to allow a user to mount an ISO via VMRC as a day2? Something else?

Yes, our users have some own ISO. I hope the user can use own ISO to create VM.

In the past, we use vCD. vCD can support this feature.

Why can't vRA support?

Hey,

I assume here that you are using the VMRC connectivity action through vRealize Automation and it has some features limited as it cannot interact in the same way as vCenter Server. For mounting the ISO you will need a XaaS action to be entitled in the VM by using vRealize Orchestrator.

Hi Lalegre,

Thank for your answer.

My need is to mount an iso file from client side wich It's easy to do with VMRC from VC.

With VRO, it seems I can add or mount a CDROM from client side, host side or data storage side.

I tried to do that from "client side", but without success.

What means exactly "data side" ?

Hey

Try to test with the next KB: VMware Knowledge Base

It seems to be pretty straightforward and as an additional content take a look at this dicussion: vRealize Orchestrator Forum - VMware {code}

Hi,

The example you mention use the Datastore iso file mount.

This is working fine.

In my case, I want to mount an iso file located to the client machine, that means the machine calling VMRC.

I though that the type 'Client Device' was the solution, but it seems not working.
