The Hostname is of vRA Provisioned Windows VM is changed to FQDN instead of just hostname

The Hostname is of vRA Provisioned Windows VM is changed to FQDN instead of just hostname after upgrading to vRA 8.4.2 but in vRA 8.3 it was just hostname without a domain name. I want hostname to be just server name without of fqdn. This is happening only for Windows servers which are domain join but not for Linux servers and started seeing this only after the upgrade. Please advise

Hostname in vRA 8.3 - "Servername"                                  Ex: server01

Hostname in vRA 8.4 - "Servername.domainname"            Ex: server01.lab.com

Also Additionally, DNS name in vCenter was only the hostname when I was running on vRA 8.3 after upgrade the DNS name changed to FQDN

Hi,

Did you get resolution to this. We observed the same for VM provisioned from VRO.

Only Windows VM hostname is FQDN instead of just the name and thei fqdn is same as DNS of the VM.

Thanks and Regards,

Pankaj
