SSL Error (Certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted) while installing vRealize Automation 7 !

vRealize Automation Configuration wizard throws an error "Cannot connect to Microsoft SQL Server: A connection was successfully established with the server, but error occurred during the login process.  (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted.)" after entering SQL Server database installation information on Server and Account Settings page and hitting Next.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

It would appear that you are securing SQL traffic with SSL. Is it a self signed cert or issued by a common CA?

Probably the most common issue: within the vRealize Automation IAAS installer untick the checkbox that sais "use SSL for database connection" if you're using SQL express.

Otherwise, if you want to use SSL: trust the cert that your SQL database is using on the IAAS server and try again.

I used SQL Server 2016 Express and uncheck "use SSL for database connection", still got this certificate not trusted error.

Switching to SQL Server 2012 Express solved the problem.
