Proper way to change IP address for vRa appliance

Is there a specific procedure for changing the IP address of a vRa 7.0.1 appliance (simple install)? I went into the VAMI and updated the ip address there and also updated the DNS entry. However, I cannot login anymore. It still has the old IP address cached for idp hostname in SSO. So when I try to login, it redirects to the IP that doesn't work anymore.

I cannot figure out how to change it - if I goto update the hostname of the idp connector, it does not save.

Can you check if the /etc/host file of your appliance point to correct IP address ? If not, update and reboot your appliance.

You can't do this due to the way vIDM works. Best bet is to deploy a second appliance with the desired IP, cluster and then remove the old one.

I've recently changed the IP address (and subnet) of a single-node vRA 7.0.1 deployment.

Besides changing the IP address and updating the hosts file, I had to update the DNS IPs, NTP IP, as in our case those changed as well.

VMware sent me the following article, which confirms it should work.

Updating IP addressing for vRealize Automation components (2146304) | VMware KB

Basically, as long as your deployment is name-based and you keep the same names, you should be fine.
