This is an interesting question actually.

Having used vCloud Director in the past where we had distinct models for allocation (PAYG, Allocation, Reserved) in vRA, really, everything is an 'Allocated' model because a Reservation must exist against the compute resource before it can be used.

I guess we would have to use a reservation with high limits and use vRealize for Business to enforce a PAYG cost model? Ideally a single reservation that operated as a 'shared model' for consumption would be nice but since a Reservation can only map to a single business group, it seems a bit... crap?

Thanks Gavin,

If you will go for the Reservation allocation model in vRA. Would you apply the rules in the Resource Pools ?

Is it possible with vRA ?
