Writable disk: Simply Install telnet test on app volumes 2.12 failed

Hi!

We are at the very first beginning to implement app volumes to view horizon 7. So we did a very basic test: Rolling out 2 windows 7 vms with horizon (manuell desktop, floating pool) with app volumes agent and view agent installed. Created writable disks for 2 users . Both users logged in via horizon client. Writable disks were correctly mounted.

Both users did a little testing, creating documents under my documents, change desktop colour and so on. And..one user installed telnet application via windows "add feature". Test, Telnet was working. Now both users logged out and swapped the VMs in horizon (we had checked this..) . Now, after login, the created documents and colour settings of the users are correct (writable disk working..) but.. the telnet client did not.

the telnet window pops out and close immediately

If the users swapped vm's again , telnet working correctly

No idea whats going on..has someone an idea?

Could you check if both the VMs (swapped) are running on the same OS & architecture?

yes, vm2 is a clone of vm1

If you use a writable volume you need to use a floating desktop pool, otherwise information that isn't being filtered by Appvolumes will be placed in the machine itself and thus compromising the integrity of the writable because you have information of 2 users in the writable.

Do you refresh or remove the machine after use??

Okay, make sure to refresh the machines after use in your pool. I do believe that this is stated in documentation that you need to refresh the machine after use.

You don't get a "machine needs to be rebooted" message when the second user logs in to the machine the first user logged into before without refreshing?
