Windows 10 - Start Menu non searchable anymore

Hello,

I'm testing windows 10 with AppVolumes. I created a simple stack with chrome, firefox, flash and evernote, but when I assign the stack to users, I can't search for locally installed programs anymore, and I get a message on top of the start menu: "These results may be incomplete". here for example I'm looking Word installed on the base image. Also programs in the stack are not showing up. The same desktop w/o volumes attached has no problems. I'm using View 6.2 - AV 2.10 - EUM 8.7

I know that we had the exact same issue with Windows 7 but this is a Windows setting (at leats it was then).

If you go to task manager and start menu properties and then go to the tab start menu and select Customize you get advanced options for the start menu.

Then theres an option there that says "Search Programs and Control Panel". Maybe there is soemthing like that in W10??

Maybe this link helps??

Windows 10 Search can't find ANY applications. Even calculator - Super User

Hello Ray,

I will give the options a try, the strange fact is that it stop working only if I attach an appstack.

Moreover I have those issues only on composer non-persistent images, on the base image everything is fine. Also everything is fine on composer images if I don't attach any stack, so the problem must be related with app volumes + non persistent. My Windows 10 image is pretty simple, just office 2013 / EUM / Persona management so I don't think there is something wrong with it and if possible i would not start to fiddle with registry keys. I have opened a case with WMware and I'm waiting for a response.

Without writable volume for profiles it works better. It takes a couple of seconds to perform the search but the it's ok.

Maybe there should be some exclusion path for the profile that are missing?
