Hi all,
I wondered if with the optimization pack from vmware flings that i apply to my parent vm is supported by app volume agent ?
https://labs.vmware.com/flings/vmware-os-optimization-tool
What is the best practice, should i first install horizon agent and then app vol agent ?
Thanks
Christophe
Hello Christophe,
you can use the OS optimization Tool on the machine you are trying to capture the Appstack but it might not be very helpful because that is your base to capture Appstacks and I dont think you would be using the Base machine for any other purpose apart from Capture.
If you want to use this tool on the Horizon View parent then yes you can go ahead and use this there are no conflicts for that. The optimization tool would just disable some services to boost the performance using a Script if you would like to know what services are disabled. Please refer to this WhitePaper at Page#30 http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/VMware-View-OptimizationGuideWindows7-EN.pdf
This should be in the base image not in an appstack. Best practice on Horizon and AV is to install AV first then Horizon agent.
Also note Horizon Agent should not be installed on the provisioning machine..
