Not able to attach the appvolume.vmdk to vm's

Hi,

I need to edit the Snapvol.cfg file. So I tried to attach the vmdk file to another non-appvlume machine.

I have unassigned the appstack from all the users. While I tried to attach using GUI its showing reconfigure failed.

I also tried using vim cmd in cli and also in power cli. Both failed.

Please help

Looking at what you are doing I don't think we need loggings here Smiley Happy

You cannot change the snapvol.cfg on an already secquenced appstack. I know there has been some discussion but the reason is that in the .VMDK file (NOT the flat file) there is an option ddb.deletable=false which means you cannot accidentaly delete the appstack but you can also not mount it.

You could mount the disk as Independent - Nonpersistent but changes made to the appstack wont be saved.

Either change that ddb.deletable setting (i would NOT suggest this!!!) or create an update and than attach it to machine because than the disk is rad/write and you can make manual changes to the snapvol.cfg..

no problem. Your answer to the post seems to me a good solution.
