List of applications that is supported

Hi,

Do we have a list of application that is supported for App Volume?  For instance,  antivirus, sql express & etc.

Is it possible to do engine based application?

How about "embedded" application?  eg executing SAP client follow by excel

Please advice.  Thanks.

Hey,

There is no specific list of applications that is supported. It mostly depends on the licensing if it works or not.

The only applications I have seen that don't work are mostly applications that activate based on machine name and with Appvolumes (and pooled desktops) you always get a different machine.

We are also using SAP FrontEnd and also with Excel integration. Do keep in mind that if you want to have office integration your packaging machine needs to have the same applications installed as your golden image. Best practice is to clone your golden image and use this as your packaging machine. Do keep in mind to uninstall VMware agents.

And also everything with the user context (Appdata or HKCU) will not be captured in the appstack. Make sure appplications install in the program files directory and use the HKLM registry part.

Just to add to Ray's post. Any apps installed to the users directory do not work as well. Some apps like to install the appdata like chrome that you download straight from the website. It has to be installed outside of the user directory as those paths are excluded from the provisioning process.

Chrome is crap but users apparently want it .

I'd suggest downloading the Chrome Business edition, works better when installing at least..
