Users using Visual Studio had created the folder C:\work to store projects. After rebooting anything created on the root of C: was gone. Is this normal behavior or a result of one or more of the AppStacks installing content to the root of C:\ and as a result being managed by AppStacks. Is there anyway to tell which AppStack would be causing this besides testing each individually?
Thanks
This is actually expected behavior as the OS is essentially being virtualized when an AppStack is attached. All changes being made to the OS are being stored in a system folder called SVROOT on the system volume (C:). This folder only becomes "visible" when an AppStack is attached and therefore virtualization is enabled.

Can you use a writable volume to capture these kinds of directories? We have some products our users are using which also involves using a folder in the root of c: Moving the folder is a major task so being able to use an alternative solution would be ideal
Yes, the UIA template will capture just about anything and everything the user may create on the "c:\".
