Autodesk Autocad 2018

Hi

I have created an appstack of Autocad 2018. When the appstack is assigned to a user Autocad is stuck on splashcreen with loading for approx 5 minutes.

I have tried to copy appdata, local and roaming, as well as the Autocad registry settings from the capturing user envrionment, but still no change. Subsequent startups have the same behavior.

Anyone seen similar behavior?

Hello Gekken1,

I had probably the same problem with Autocad 2013. Together with me, lenzker was able to solve the problem. You'll find the solution in his great blog (#VMware #Horizon App Volumes: Hints (for Performance and Packaging) – vLenzker). He wrote CATIA, but it was about Autocad, as you can see in the screenshot.

Fucking genius!

Been working with Appvolumes since v2.7 but never knew about this.

BTW here's the official KB on the reverse_replicate_registry_key procedure using procmon: VMware Knowledge Base

I'm also having trouble optimizing Autocad. As soon as the appvolumes service is started there's a huge performance decrease.

Any other tips?
