Appstack/Writables assignments

Hi,

is there any best practises or guidelines when assigning appstacks ? I meant, is it possible to assign appstacks to computer accounts and writable to user ? mixing assignment to user and computer accounts ?

If you are using writable volume, it is recommended to assign AppStacks and writable volumes to users. If no writables, assign AppStacks to computers for better performance. It is not possible to mix the assignments of AppStacks and writable volumes to computers and users.

It also depends if you know what the user should be getting when logging into his machine.

The reason we went for Appvolumes is that we can't be sure which user logs in to what machine in the pool, thus we assign specifically to user accounts.

When assigning an appstack (or writable for that matter) you can also add the option to assign to a specific machine prefix name. Using this technique you cannot only assign to a specific user but also to a specific pool or machine name.
