Checking to see if anyone else has run into this yet. The scenario is we have captured 4 apps so far on Win7x64 (Chrome, Firefox, Flash and Reader) and all worked perfectly. Those Appstacks are loaded into inventory, and all is well. Every time we attempt to capture Java 8 (tested u74 and latest u94) the capture VM will not finalize the capture. It says it is attempting to mount the disk to finalize capture as normal, but then just hangs. It appears the entire drive subsystem is locked up as you cannot even open up Windows Explorer.
If you reboot the VM prior to finalizing the capture, the same behavior occurs. We are having a hard time seeing what the logs might say as the whole VM is essentially locked up at a disk level once this happens.
Everything else about AppVolumes 3.0 we have working. It is just trying to capture Java (of all things) that seems to be causing this hangup.
Performed a hard reset on the capture VM when it was hung at the "Mounting disk to finalize" stage. When it came back up it was able to finalize the layer no problem. Odd issue.
MSI vs EXE installer had the same result of hanging the finalization stage initially.
Oh and the capture machine does have internet access, but as stated before, we have captured 4 other apps successfully on the same system (rolling back to snapshot between each capture).
What happens if you try to do the package with an MSI installer?? It seems as if the .exe installer has some checks in it that could cause this bahaviour.
